Nursery Schools

What's the difference between nursery and preschool?
Preschools usually work around a formal curriculum and trained teachers - making them a little more expensive! Nursery schools are usually a more relaxed learning environment and more flexible enrolment terms. They are also cheaper and vary greatly.

What age is a preschooler? Ages up to 4 is considered preschooler with toddlers are 1 - 3 year old bracket. Basically 4-year-old are not 'toddling' around any more and so are no longer toddlers!

What does preschool mean? A preschool, or nursery school, is a pre-primary school, or play school for early childhood education. Preschool is for children before they begin compulsory education at primary school.

Is Pre K considered preschool? Pre K schools are pre-kindergartens.

They made sure he was showered and shaved every morning, his clothes were clean and he ate and drank appropriately. Would highly recommend them.

When arrived at St. Giles Eastbourne I was already an advanced student (level C1), but I needed a higher IELTS score for emigration purposes. After 5 weeks of intensive course and one-to-one lessons my dream came true. I achieved the required score, even higher than required. Many thanks to all my teachers.

Kumon Maths & English

Ratton County Secondary School, Park Avenue, Eastbourne BN21 2XR, UK – 01323 332455

Joshua was on year 4 when I began to entertain thoughts of getting him some tutorial help. He struggles in math and English. His school reports and consultations were not good. As a parent it made me worry even though teachers said that there should not be any concern. With no confidence at all, Joshua always wants me to sit with him the whole time he is doing his school homework. He can not do things independently. I also noticed that doing his homeworks had become a tiring and stressful task for both of us. He always end up crying and very upset as he does not understand what I am teaching him and he can not get it right. This daily scenario has prompted me to enroll him at Kumon. As he went for his Kumon asssessment we were told that although he is on year 4, his ability turns out to be of a year 2 student only. Establishing the Kumon routine requires a lot of dedication, discipline and patience. But it all paid off. Now, gone are the days of tears when Joshua constantly cry while doing his homework. He is now working a year above his actual school curriculum. His confidence has gone up and he is now very independent. No more babysitting while he is doing his homework. He is a lot happier . At school, he is on the top sets in math. The feedback that I have received from his teacher was also excellent. He even sometimes helped his classmates in math if there is something that they do not understand and get stucked. When they asked why he knew all this things and how he made it looks so easy, he always say he already have studied it in Kumon. Also kudos to the head of the centre Mrs Anupa Verma, she did a wonderful job in helping us out with Joshua. Thanks to Anu for not giving up on him and on us during those times that we are in the verge of quitting. Anu as their Kumon instructor has offered a lot of support and encouragement. She has been very kind to our family. I love the fact that she goes out of her way to help the kids and the parents out. She always involve both the students and the parents in the planning of their Kumon studies. The regular chat and consultation is a great help for us. It make us understand the curriculum and at the same time keep us updated of Joshua’s progress. She makes each child feel special and motivated. When Joshua had to go through a rough patch, she only have spoken to him once and the whole attitude towards his studies has improved. Kumon centre have offered and helped Joshua in a lot of ways. And I have definitely recommended it to friends and will still continue to do so.

Daniel was an very average student, who lacked confidence and required some improvement in his assessments for the past few years. I was struggling to spend time to help him develop further. Then after hearing from friends, Daniel joined this kumon centre, within a short span of time he picked up well in his curriculum and gained confidence. Now he is one among top levels in his class. I have to specially thank the centre head Anu for her special attention in motivating him by encouraging him. Few great things I have observed that every student gets that special attention and parent get a feedback after every weeks work on their children's progress. All in all 5 star coaching and did help Daniel to perform well in his SATs. I am glad I found the right centre.
